The Comper Trust

An educational trust whose aim is to increase the awareness and recognition of the work of Sir Ninian Comper, 20th Century church architect and furnisher, and to encourage and support the appropriate maintenance of his work.

Objectives: -

  • To develop and maintain an archive pertaining to Comperšs work.
  • To undertake the writing of articles and books about Comperšs work.
  • To support churches in the restoration of Comper work and to provide advice on same where appropriate.
  • To support churches in finding funding sources for restoration work.
  • To bring Comper to the attention of a wider audience within the world-wide Anglican and Roman Catholic communities and beyond.
  • To resource and encourage lectures, radio and television programmes and other forms of media to further the other aims of the trust.
  • To be an appropriate repository for bequests and a grant giving body to churches seeking to undertake restoration of fabric and furnishings by Comper.
  • To provide a regular newsletter.
  • To investigate and report upon lost or previously unknown Comper work.
