HOME GARDEN, October 9: Due to circumstances finding it hard to go hunting this year which is very annoying as such a wet summer and the times I've been out have been worthwhile. Found a Trichoglossum hirsutum* cluster amongst the moss TEMPLETON WOODS, October 16: Only walked just over an hour and found so many. So annoying that due to the bad weather and other circumstances my outings have been few and far between, but when I've been out they've been great. To what I've found: Aleuria aurantiaca [orange peel fungus], Boletus chrysenteron [red-cracked boletus], Calocera viscosa, Calocera cornea [orange staghorn], Clitocybe flaccida [tawny funnel-cap], Collybia butyracea [butter cap], Collybia maculata [spotted tough-shank], Collybia peronata [wood woolly foot], Coprinus comatus [lawyers wig], Creolophus cirrhatus [NEW]*, Gymnopilus spectabilis [NEW]*, Hypholoma fasciculare [sulphur tuft], Ischnoderma resinosum [NEW]*, Laccaria amethystea [amethyst deceiver]*, Laccaria laccata [deceiver], Lactarius blennius, Lactarius brittanicus, Lactarius turpis [ugly milk-cap], Lyophyllum connatum*, Mycena sanguinolenta, Oudemansiella radicata [rooting tough-shank], Phallus impudicus [stinkhorn], Pholiota squarrosa [shaggy pholiota], Piptoporus betulinus [birch polypore], Russula mairei [beech sickener], Russula ochroleuca [swamp russula], Stereum hirsutum [hairy stereum], Tricholomopsis rutilans [plums and custard], Xylaria hypoxylon [candlesnuff fungus]. Have found I. benzoinum before amongst conifers but Ischnoderma resinosum was among beech. ARBROATH ROAD WOODED WALK, October 26: The good thing about this walk, apart from the sunshine which has been rare this year, was the sightings of a grey squirrel, 4 pheasant and 3 fallow deer [I don't know how the deer came to be so close to a built-up area considering there isn't really a good area of woodland]. Anyway to the finds: Agaricus silvicola [wood agaric]*, Boletus chrysenteron [red-cracked boletus], Clitocybe flaccida [tawny funnel-cap], Clitocybe nebularis [clouded agaric], Stropharia aeruginosa [verdigris agaric] [NEW]*, Coprinus comatus [lawyers wig], Cystoderma amianthinum, Hygrocybe nivea [snowy wax-cap] - I've not taken a photo of this as it's all white and I'm not sure a good likeness would be possible, Lactarius deliciosus [saffron milk-cap], Lepiota cristata*, Neobulgaria pura var. foliacea [NEW]* - this will be a photo to see for the experts but that's my best guess, Stropharia aurantiaca, Xylaria hypoxylon [candlesnuff fungus] BELMONT WOOD, November 6: Armillaria bulbosa, Armillaria mellea [honey fungus] - lots of this, Boletus chrysenteron [red-cracked boletus], Calocera viscosa, Clitocybe nebularis [clouded agaric], Collybia peronata [wood woolly-foot], Cystoderma amianthinum, Gymnnopilus penetrans, Hygrocybe ceracea, Hygrocybe coccinea [scarlet hood]*, Hygrocybe nivea [snowy wax-cap], Hypholoma fasciculare [sulphur tuft], Laccaria amethystea [amethyst agaric], Laccaria bicolor, Lactarius turpis [ugly milk-cap], Mycena crocata [NEW]*, Omphalina postii [NEW], Phallus impudicus [stinkhorn] - lots of this, the wood had a pungent smell, Piptoporus betulinus [birch polypore], Psilocybe semilanceata [liberty cap] [P]*, Tyromyces caesius, Trichoglossum hirsutum, Xylaria hypoxylon [candlesnuff fungus]. Hopefully I'll get pics tomorrow of the new ones I've found. Too dark where I found them and too dark time I got home.
