The Civic Society
Exists to promote appropriate standards for the development of Altrincham
in order to create an environment which is pleasant and attractive for
its citizens to live in and enjoy.
Civic Society
The Civic society was formed over 40 years
ago to ensure the highest standards for the development of Altrincham.
We have over recent years been particularily concerned to influence proposed
major developments in our town. We have made detailed comments on plans
before the local council on expansion of the Eastern area. We are particularily
concerned with traffic flow,car parking, town centre shops, specialist
traders and the market.
In addition to major developments the
Society monitors individual planning applications and applications from
smaller developers to guage their impact on individuals and local groups.
The society arranges open meetings to
inform members of current developments and occasional topics of interest.
New members are always welcome and for
those with more than just a passing interest how about joining our very
active committee.
